The British crown colony of the “Turcs and Caicos” Islands is known for having been a drug trafficking hotspot even in the not so remote past. In the heyday of “Narcotraffics”, airplanes were preferred for transporting drugs. The proximity to the organized dealers was fatal for an ex-prime minister of the Turcs and Caicos. He went straight from his presidency to prison.
Today you can still find abandoned planes, a testimony of a recent history.
After a lot of research, we sailed with JONATHAN to some of these places to dive for airplane wrecks. But there are also crashed planes over water, such as a twin-engine “Corsair”.
